About

In this four-part lecture and interactive drawing series, you will learn how to efficiently and effectively draw comics that read well. This course is adaptive to varying skill levels from beginner to intermediate. TRANSLATION: From script to page how to go from the literary story to the visual story. Aug. 18 at 3 PM CST. FLOW: Taking the reader on a ride. Directional storytelling from panel to panel. Sep. 22 at 3 PM CST. INTERACTION: Character to environment, make the world feel real and connected. Oct. 20 at 3 PM CST. PACING: Guiding the speed and feel visually to craft the reader experience. Nov. 17 at 3 PM CST. What to expect: Four sessions, each with 45 minutes of lecture and 45 minutes of interactive, hands-on drawing, held over Zoom. You will want to have drawing supplies on hand for the interactive, hands-on portion. This is a condensed course, built to fit into a busy schedule and adapt to your skill level. The lectures will be recorded so that you can reference them as needed. It is recommended that you practice and apply what you learn in the month between each session, but “homework” will not be assigned. There will be a private section of the Discord specifically for instructors and participants to communicate and share their work. For a limited time, the cost of the full course is only $100.
